CAREER: Filling the Gaps in Domain-Specific Functional-Based Solutions High-Performance Execution(Status: Active -- Project Award Date: 06-01-2014)
The development of high assurance systems is time consuming and expensive. A high assurance system comprises of a combination of software, hardware and firmware for which we understand the intent of the system, or semantics, and have confidence that this intent was accurately realized in an implementation. For example in a multi-level virtualization environment, a domain problem is knowing that a process executing on a shared resource can not be observed or modified in an unauthorized way. The intent Is non-interference between processes, but capturing this in implementable is challenging. Furthermore, the challenges faced in high assurance system development are present to some degree in any development task that targets a system with fixed resources.

The objective of the Greater Kansas Area Security Workshop (KanSec) is to provide a regular forum for researchers and students across Kansas and the neighboring states to present research and educational activities, and to promote interactions and collaborations.
CDI Type II: Computational Methods to Enable an Invertebrate Paleontology Knowledgebase(Status: Completed -- Project Award Date: 10-01-2012)
The Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology is considered by paleontologists to be the most authoritative compilation of data on invertebrate fossils. ITTC researchers will make the vast data contained in the Treatise available in electronic form through the Invertebrate Paleontology Knowledgebase (IPKbase).

Society increasingly depends on networks in general, and the Internet in particular, for just about every aspect of daily life. As the Internet increases its reach in global scope, services traditionally implemented on separate networks are increasingly subsumed by the Internet, either as overlays, via gatewayed access, or as a replacement for legacy networks. With this growing dependence on and integration of services in the Internet, come increasingly severe consequences of disruption in networked services.

This infrastructure will enable direct GPENI OpenFlow access in two resilient overlay networks (RONs) and three Midwest states.
GpENI: Great Plains Environment for Network Innovation(Status: Completed -- Project Award Date: 09-01-2008)
ITTC will lead regional deployment of network infrastructure to support interdisciplinary research and development of future Internet architectures. The Great Plains Environment for Network Innovation (GpENI), part of a National Science Foundation initiative, will foster collaboration among participating Midwestern universities.
ResiliNets: Multilevel Resilient and Survivable Networking(Status: Completed -- Project Award Date: 06-01-2006)
The resilient and survivable networking initiative (ResiliNets) is investigating the architecture, protocols, and mechanisms to provide resilient, survivable, and disruption-tolerant networks, services, and applications.

Partner with ITTC

The Information and Telecommunication Technology Center at the University of Kansas has developed several assistance policies that enhance interactions between the Center and local, Kansas, or national companies. 

ITTC assistance includes initial free consulting (normally one to five hours). If additional support is needed, ITTC will offer one of the following approaches: 

Sponsored Research Agreement

Individuals and organizations can enter into agreements with KUCR/ITTC and provide funds for sponsored research to be performed at ITTC with the assistance of faculty, staff and students.

Licensing and Royalty/Equity Agreement

An ITTC goal is the development of investment-grade technologies for transfer to, and marketing by, local, Kansas, and national businesses. To enhance this process, the Center has developed flexible policies that allow for licensing, royalty, and equity arrangements to meet both the needs of ITTC and the company.

Commercialization Development

Companies with a technology need that can be satisfied with ITTC's resources can look to us for assistance. We can develop a relationship with interested partners that will provide for the development of a technology suited for commercialization.

ITTC Resource Access

ITTC resources, including computers and software systems, may be made available to Kansas companies in accordance with the Center's mission and applicable Regents and University policies.
